Peter O’Callaghan CFP Dip FP, M Fin Serv Law JP (Qual)
Authorised Representative

Peter is the Director based in our Brisbane office and has been in the financial services industry for over 20 years.

In 2009, he decided to embark on his journey of helping people realise their dreams by building relationships with them and learning about what was core to each individual.

More About Peter

Peter firmly believes in letting clients take ownership and accountability for the outcomes of their financial plans. ‘My clients rely on me to inform and educate them. They also depend on my help, support and encouragement as they make major decisions that will allow them to take control of their circumstances, realise their goals and secure the financial future of themselves and their families. As I get to know my clients, I also share their dreams’.

In October 2014, Peter was privileged enough to receive the AFA National Excellence in Education Award. Established in 2008, this award recognises commitment and excellence in advice through participation in further education.

Mentoring young advisors is one of his personal passions, and over the past 12 months he has been an active mentor in the AFA Mentoring program. ‘I take every opportunity to speak to groups of university students considering a career in financial planning, about the value of advice and my philosophy of objectives centric financial planning’.

Outside of work, Peter is a Commissioned Officer in the Royal Australian Air Force Reserves. ‘One of my biggest passions is fighter jets, and I see any opportunity to go out there and play as a great stress reliever. I also enjoy spending time with my two boys, both of whom are keen AFL footballers’.

Daniel is a Senior Financial Advisor based at our Gold Coast office.  His greatest motivation comes from clients reaching both their financial and personal goals, regardless of their life stage.

Damian Reid B.Bus (Sports Management), B.Comm (Financial Planning), and a Masters (HR Management)
Damian joins MSI as a Graduate Financial Planning Associate and primarily assists with data collection and helps bring the strategy for our clients’ advice documents together.

Damian’s initial interest in financial planning resulted from an ‘A Current Affair’ segment that highlighted a few financial planners that did not have their clients’ best interest in mind. ‘After doing some research into what financial planning involved, and how practical the information can be, I realised the value an advisor can contribute to people’.

More about Damian

Damian has always enjoyed helping others, getting to know people, and has an interest in finance. ‘Becoming a future financial planner, means I get to help people achieve their financial goals while incorporating all the things I find enjoyable’.

Outside of the office, Damian loves playing AFL and golf, surfing, going to the gym (or just exercise in general), and travelling.

Some of Damian’s travel highlights include ‘Running of the Bulls’ in Pamplona, Spain; watching the sunset in Santorini, Greece; attending the Oktoberfest in Munich, and watching the sunrise on Hawaii’s second highest mountain.  Damian still hopes to visit America, attend the Pipeline Masters in Hawaii, visit Dubai, and do the ‘Running of the Bulls’ again in the future.
